Our Story of Hope & Compassion
From a dream to serve to a reality that saves lives — discover the journey of Hajira Hamza Foundation and our unwavering commitment to creating a Thalassemia-Free Pakistan.
Born from Personal Experience
Hajira Hamza Foundation (H2F) was established in 2023 and is registered with SECP License No 1754 under the Companies Act 2017. The foundation's primary objective is to lessen the pain of individuals who are affected by blood disorders, such as thalassemia. This is achieved through health promotion campaigns to raise awareness about blood diseases, conducting thalassemia research to improve treatment protocols, screening blood transfusions, and preventing those at risk.
Thalassemia is a genetic blood disorder that affects millions of individuals, particularly in our region. The Hajira Hamza Foundation aims to establish a Thalassemia Center in every division of the country in public and private sectors to provide comprehensive care and support for patients suffering from this condition.
A thalassemia center in Hazara Division Abbottabad was set up by H2F in July 2023 to achieve this goal. The center has all the necessary equipment, including a blood bank, laboratory, and transfusion ward, which strictly adheres to the protocols established by the Health Care Commission and KPBTA. All essential clinical tests, blood transfusions, and iron chelation therapy are available to patients at no cost. We have successfully enrolled 270 patients from Hazara Division. The foundation made history by covering the cost of the first bone marrow transplant for one of H2F's adopted thalassemia patients, leading to their successful recovery.
